The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione began life as a concept at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. The response was so overwhelming that Alfa Romeo committed to building it, and the 8C went on to become the marque’s most important road car in decades. It revived a name first made famous by the 8C racing cars of the 1930s.
Wolfgang Egger’s design is among the finest of its era, with sculpted carbon-fibre bodywork over a steel chassis built by Maserati in Modena. Power comes from a Ferrari-built 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 450 horsepower, paired with a six-speed transaxle for ideal weight distribution. The engine note alone has earned the 8C a devoted following among enthusiasts.
Production was limited to 500 coupés. This example was delivered new to Japan and first registered in May 2010. It’s finished in Nero over red leather, a far rarer specification than the more familiar Rosso Competizione. The deep black paint highlights the car’s sculpted lines, while the red cabin, with its carbon-shell seats and embossed Alfa Romeo crest, gives it real presence from the moment the door opens.
Since arriving in Dubai in 2024, the car has been maintained by Al Tayer Motors, the authorised Alfa Romeo service centre. It received a major service in February 2025, including new drive belts and spark plugs. A minor service followed in September 2026, with fresh engine oil, filters and transmission oil.
With just 3,516 kilometres from new, up-to-date main-dealer servicing and a striking colour combination, this is a highly desirable example of one of Alfa Romeo’s great modern collector cars.
