What is left to be said about 7-time World Champion Michael Schumacher? Best know for his decade-long allegiance to Ferrari between 1996 and 2006, his golden years, he retired briefly by the end of the 2000’s, and retook the wheel for Mercedes between 2010 and 2012. Considered the world’s highest-paid athlete at the time, he also contributed tens of millions to charitable causes. He retired from motorsport in 2013 after a tragic skiing accident.
With Omega as one of Schumacher’s sponsors, it was only a matter of time before a commemorative racing watch was designed in his honor. The result? A gorgeous 39mm chronograph halfway between a ‘Tintin’ and a ‘Japan Racing’ Speedmaster.
This particular example, number 2681/6000, was sold new at King Fook Jewellery of Hong Kong. The watch is in nice condition and keeps good time, and comes accompanied by its Certificate of Authenticity, manuals, label, hard box, soft box, and warranty card.
