In the mid-1950’s, the Japanese watch industry confidently moved to compete against the Swiss, providing high quality at a low cost. The heralds of this new movement were Seiko, Citizen, and Orient, later followed by Casio during the quartz and digital watch revolution.

The Citizen 8110 was a refined, two-register and calendar-at-six chronograph with an automatic movement, dubbed ‘Bullhead’ due to the pushers on top of the watch, resembling bull horns.

The watch was made famous in the film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, being worn in a leather bracelet by character Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt. This specification of chronograph has worn the actor’s name ever since.

This particular 8110 ‘Bullhorn’ has undergone a mild restoration under our ownership: the case was re-plated and the movement was serviced (2022), with the main rotor being replaced with an original, new-old-stock unit. Mounted on a leather bracelet just like the film watch, it is a great timepiece to wear daily or keep as Tarantino memorabilia.
