The DBS was Aston Martin’s flagship from 2007 to 2012. It revived a name first used in 1967 and was introduced to the world in Casino Royale. In 2010, Aston Martin marked ten years of Dr Ulrich Bez as Chief Executive with the DBS UB-2010. Bez was the man behind the DB9, the Vantage and the move to Gaydon. Just 40 were built, 20 coupes and 20 Volantes.
Marek Reichman gave the DBS a wider, lower stance than the DB9, with carbon fibre bonnet, boot lid, wings and splitter, and carbon ceramic brakes as standard. Power comes from the hand-built 5.9-litre V12, with 510 PS and 570 Nm, good for 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and 307 km/h. Every UB-2010 was finished in Azurite Black over Metallic Bronze leather with woven inserts and a Cryptic Titan fascia, and Dr Bez’s signature is embroidered on each headrest.
This car is coupe No. 07 of 20 and has covered just 81 km from new. It has barely been driven and is still in the condition it left Gaydon in. The original sill plaques, individually signed by Ulrich Bez, are still in place, and the interior shows no sign of wear.
A great V12 grand tourer, a direct link to one of the most important figures in Aston Martin’s modern history, and one of only 20 coupes built. It’s rare to find a UB-2010 at all, and rarer still to find one that is effectively new. This is a car for the serious collector.
