Pioneered at the 1972 Paris Motor Show, the Maserati Merak was introduced as a competitor to the mid-engined Ferrari 308GT4 Dino and the Lamborghini Urraco. A baby Bora of sorts, the compact V6 engine allowed for a longitudinal setup and two additional rear seats, making it a 2+2, Giugiaro-designed supercar.
This beautifully restored Merak was featured in the Japanese publication “The Super Car Origin” (2016).
