A miniaturized tribute to one of the greatest race cars of all time – if not the greatest, this Porsche 917 is fully motorized with a two-stroke engine.
The (full-size) 917 achieved considerable fame on the racetrack – winning the punishing 24 Hours of Le Mans twice and dominating the American Can-Am series. But it would go on to equivalent fame on the silver screen, where it was the star of the 1971 Steve McQueen film, Le Mans.
Powered by a flat 12-cylinder engine, the 917 could hit 100kph in 2.3 seconds and blast on to a top speed of 225mph (362kph). It remains one of the most powerful race cars ever built.
