When Tobias Moers took over the vehicle development for AMG in 2002, he set on to rework their model range to be complement every Mercedes-Benz with an AMG variant, and worked on a no-nonsense front-mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sportscar for the serious driver, as opposed to the aesthetically nostalgic SLS. The result was the AMG GT, a car that shed all retro compromises and improved greatly on the sloppy dynamics of its contemporary 300SL tribute. It was a confident step ahead for Mercedes-Benz and AMG.
This AMG was offered in multiple variants: the GT (456hp), GT S (503hp), GT C (550hp), GT R (577hp) and GT R Pro (577hp as well), GT Black Series (720hp), GT2 Pro (739hp), each one with more lightweight and dynamic upgrades than the last —LSD, wider body, ride control, adjustable springs, wings, and antiroll bars, to name a few of these improvements across models. Limited thematic series, such as the Edition 50 (500), ‘Dark Knight Edition’ (2), ‘Track Series’ (55) and the GT3 Edition 55 (55), were also available across models.
This AMG GT C is an original European specification vehicle, and is finished in an eye-catching Designo Brilliant Blue Magno over Exclusive leather. Delivered new in Switzerland in 2020 and brought to the UAE in late 2023, this special AMG GT C has a European CoC and two owners from new, the latter being a well-know automotive entrepreneur. The car does come with its accompanying manuals, tyre inflator kit, first aid kit, warning triangle, and spare key.
