A historic overview of Mercedes-Benz in motorsport until 1955, when the brand decided to withdraw from racing until their great comeback in the mid-1990’s, under Sauber, McLaren and Williams.
Besides its own historical value as a 1955 publication, the book features 129 exquisite illustrations by Carlo Demand, showcasing dramatic moments in Mercedes motorsport.
This book was bought from the estate of Hanns-Dietrich Reinelt, who was a photographer for the Mercedes-Benz team in the 1950’s, and eventually moved to the United States to become a spokesman for the company. Condition is excellent, with no damage anywhere other than understandable yellowing after 60+ years of storage, and some minor wear on the book’s spine.
