Considered as the most successful racing car ever made, the Bugatti Type 35 amassed over 1,000 victories between 1924 and 1930. Introduced by Ettore Bugatti at the 1924 French Grand Prix, the Type 35 has since become the single most iconic prewar racer of all time, and a true embodiment of the art of motion, and, like the 250 GTO or 300SL Gullwing, a must-have piece in any serious car collection. A reliable straight-eight engine, paired to a four-speed manual gearbox, was at the heart of this legendary automobile, along with brake drums, alloy wheels, supercharging (1926 onwards), and louvered aluminium bodywork.
Fast-forward some fifty-odd years, and you will find the artisans at Pur Sang Argentina carrying the torch of passion and craftsmanship into the modern era. Founded by Jorge Anadon, architect by training and devote automobilista, Pur Sang set on to make the finest ‘toolroom replicas’ of the Bugatti Type 35, the Alfa Romeo 8C “Monza”, the Maserati A6GCS, and many other rolling sculptures on the commission of clients around the world, many of which own the actual originals and prefer to use their ‘Pur Sang’ counterparts in driving and competition events. The finesse and precision of each component produced at Pur Sang’s Parana workshop can match or surpass the originals, to the extent that they are fully interchangeable.
We are delighted to present this phenomenal recreation, in every sense of the word, of the Bugatti Type 35B. Complete with its Roots-style supercharger, this exquisite automobile has been built to the same spec as the original, with the added improvement of an electric starter and electronic ignition, and the beauty of aged patina. A unique opportunity in our region, this Pur Sang is ready to elevate the discerning collector’s garage to Jay Leno levels.
