1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SL - $80,000
As V8’s were making their way on the brand’s saloon range due to demand overseas, the successors of the famed ‘Pagoda’ SL’s were outfitted with some of the newer 3.5 and 4.5-litre powerplants. Built on Mercedes’ tradition of engineering excellence, these motors soon proved to be robust, torquey and reliable, and were eventually developed into 4.2, 5.0 and 5.6-litre units.
This particular car is one of the few ‘Cayenne Orange’ (406H) examples of the R107 to leave the assembly line.
